Hike Messenger

Hike Messenger

Hike is a cross platform messenger which was recently launched and is quickly gaining popularity among Android, iPhone and Windows mobile users. Having been launched on 30th January 2013, it has already been downloaded over 500,000 times from the Android app store alone.

Developed by Bharti Softbank, a Delhi based company, Hike has all the features which Whatsapp has and a lot more. For every person who accepts your invitation to join Hike, you get paid Rs. 20 and 50 free SMS The money that is given to the users can be used to recharge their mobile phones once the user accumulates a minimum amount of Rs. 50. It also offers a 127 bit SSL Encryption so that the messages get encrypted every time they are sent over Wi fi. Most of the emoticons were also created from scratch and look cute. Currently Hike runs only on Android, IOS and Windows mobile phones though versions for Blackberry and Symbian are being developed.

One of the major problems i encountered with the app is that it tends to get very slow on a Windows phone while being used over 2G/EDGE. Apart from that there aren any bugs i came across.

After using hike for about 5 days, i can assure you that its worth downloading and has a lot of potential. i just hope that the developers launch it on the Blackberry and Symbian app markets ASAP and the one bug we came across gets fixed when the next update gets rolled.
